Actually, Rehoboth Beach is considered a Dream Town for retirees (according to the AARP magazine, a publication devoted to the welfare of people aged 50 and above). Despite its very small land area (measuring just around one square mile), many couples of retirement age are flocking to Rehoboth Beach in Delaware to either buy an existing house for their retirement years or have one built from scratch. At present, 38% of the population are over the age of 65 while the median age stands at 57. Even surrounding communities near Rehoboth Beach in the same state are experiencing heightened demand for real estate from retirees as well. In fact, Delaware planners predict that there will be 75% more retirees who are 65 years old and above who will relocate to the region within the next 25 years.
