Daytona Beach Prepares Two Beachside Parks

Ora Park, and its sister beachside park Breakers Oceanfront Park, are currently being built this 2007 in the Daytona Beach, Florida area. They are called beachside parks because that is precisely where they are located right next to the beach. These parks are being built on their current locations because they offer a fantastic panorama of the vast Atlantic Ocean, which will be a boon to tourists and residents alike who choose to visit the beachside parks. Ora Park and Breakers Oceanfront Park are being constructed at roughly the same time to make the project proceed more efficiently.

Breakers Oceanfront Park

Breakers Oceanfront Park is expected to be completed by at least February 2007. When finished, Breakers Oceanfront Park will offer family-friendly features that the public will enjoy. Some amenities are well-planned native landscaping, picnic sites (complete with benches and tables), a volleyball court, a play fountain for the kiddies, public comfort rooms, and an environmental center which will occupy 1000 square feet in a 2000-square-foot building.

Ora Park

Ora Park is the smaller one of the two parks. In this park, the historic boardwalk will be extended by an additional 29% in length or 860 linear feet more. When completed, Ora Park will be occupying 2,687 feet with sweeping views of the nearby Main Street Pier and the Atlantic Ocean. Construction ought to be finished by at least October 2007.

These beachside parks form a major part of the $20-million upgrade of Daytona Beach which is considered the Most Famous Beach in the World. The Daytona Beach community is not one to be idle when it comes to maintaining and upgrading Daytona Beach for the benefit of all stakeholders. In fact, citizen volunteers who make up the Vision Steering Committee and who are recognized by the City Commission are inviting residents of Daytona Beach to participate in the Visioning Process which aims to produce a feasible Vision Plan regarding the future of Daytona Beach.
